2004 STOLEN WISHES

Over the duration of about half a year, working at night, using a customized net, the artist stole around 150 quid and other debris from Trafalgar Square Fountain, London. This loot was used as the collatoral in a functioning ‘pusher style’ gambling machine which was striped of its bling to reveal its thieving mechanisms. Over the duration of the show, audience members were encouraged to put their own money in the machine thus roughly tripling the amount of money in the machine. After the show, all the money, including the extra was returned to the fountain to the surprise of the security officers whom previously encountered in dire circumstances.
