Wrapped in plastic, this fully functional Karaoke machine has a loud 40-minute loop mash made from nokia™ ring tones. The ring tones selected are the most ‘recognizable’ choruses from grunge and rock anthems of the 90’s. The lyrics appeared on the T.V in a hand made animation and the words where recited from my memory of what the lyrics should/could be. Audience members where invited up on the stage to sing-along however the dramatic cuts between the tracks coupled with the sometimes inaccurate lyrics created gruelling and comic effects.
‘EMPTY ORCHESTRA’ is a translation of the word, ‘karaoke’
